''Teaching young Tibetan adults at Lha Charitable Trust in Dharamsala in 2019 was a profoundly transformative experience for me. Their resilience in the face of adversity was both humbling and inspiring. Witnessing their determination to build a future against all odds immensely moved me.
I understood the challenges faced by refugees and the scarcity of resources available to them. It felt like a natural extension of neighborly duty to lend a hand as an Indian. Placing myself in their shoes, I realized the profound impact even the smallest act of support could have.
Inspired by His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s vision for a more just and compassionate world, I founded Project Gyatso in 2022. Gyatso means ‘Ocean’ in Tibetan and is a part of HHDL’s name, Tenzin Gyatso. The organization’s name is a humble tribute to his enduring spirit. Just as an ocean encompasses countless rivers, we aspire to be a source of support for countless Tibetan students.
Our mission is simple: to empower Tibetan youth with the tools and opportunities they deserve. We believe that every individual possesses immense potential, and our role is to create an environment where that potential can flourish."
